Decoration Description:

Tondo: a Silen seated astride a wine-skin with a rhyton. His bald head is wreathed with ivy, and long locks of hair fall to his shoulders. He holds a horn rhyton in his left hand, and looks down at his right hand which is held in front of him. In the field, [epig-rough]*I*P*P*A*R*X*O*S *K*A*L*O*S ("Hipparchos is beautiful"); on the wine-skin, [epig-rough]*I*P*P*A*O*X*O, probably the same name.

Inscriptions:

[epig-rough]*I*P*P*A*R*X*O*S*K*A*L*O*S ("Hipparchos is beautiful"). On the skin, [epig-rough]*I*P*P*A*O*X*O ("Hippaocho").
