XIV. 481, and the similar use of “χειμών”.Strophadum, two small islands west of Messenia, south of Zacynthus, to which the Harpies were driven from Thrace by Zetes and Calais, who here turned back. The name is otherwise explained to mean the Drifting Islands, in accordance with the earlier name “Πλωταί”.
