[2] foxes, hyenas, porcupines, wild rams, the dictys, jackals, panthers, the borys,1 land crocodiles sixty inches long, very like lizards, and ostriches and little one-horned serpents; all these beasts besides those that are elsewhere too, except deer and wild boar; of these two kinds there are none at all in Libya.

1 The dictys and borys are not identifiable. (But there is a small African deer called the Dik-dik).
