“ἔπειθον αὐτοὺς καὶ οὓς ἔπεισα τούτους ἔχων ἐπορευόμην”, XEN. Cyr. 5.5.22; I tried to persuade them, and those whom I succeeded in persuading I marched on with. “συνετάξαντο καὶ τοῖς ὁπλίταις . . . ἐπῇσαν . . . τοῖς μὲν οὖν ὁπλίταις οὐκ ἐδυνήθησαν προσμεῖξαι”, THUC.4.33.1-2; They formed and tried to charge the hoplites . . .
