[19] Ἀθηναίης ὑποθημοσύνῃσιν: taken from Il. 15. 412, where the skilful shipwright (τέκτων) works with the στάθμη under the guidance of Athene. Catullus, 64. 9, describes the goddess building the Argo: “Ipsa levi fecit volitantem flamine currum Pinea coniungens inflexae texta carinae”; cf. Val. Fl. 1. 92.
