[667] ἐς Πόδον ἷξεν: this is an anachronism. Even the Dorian migration into Peloponnesus followed the fall of Troy by 80 years (Thue. i. 12).

ἀλώμενος: always in this place of the verse.

ἄλγεα πάσχων: with sorrow. Const. with “ἀλώμενος”.
