[*] 366. Non-use of certain tenses of the indicative with temporal particles. As a rule, temporal particles are not used with the indicative in future relations. Here the subjunctive with “ἄν” is regularly employed, which becomes optative in oratio obliqua. Temporal particles with the present and perfect tenses of the indicative are regularly causal or conditional. See Temporal Sentences.
