[41] ἀμφέχυτο: surrounded him, “rang in his ears,” i.e. he remembered it well; cf. v. 19. “ἀμφί” seems to be used with reference to both ears, cf. “ἥ τις” (sc. “ἀοιδὴ”) “ἀκουόντεσσι νεωτάτη ἀμφιπέληται α” 352.
