studioso: the adjective probably modifies tibi, indicating that Gellius was a man of literary tastes, and perhaps an especial admirer of Callimachus; for the modification of animo by two words of similar meaning would be extremely awkward, and is not supported by such phrases as Verg. G. 4.370saxosus sonans Hypanis” , where the adjectives differ in meaning. Perhaps, after all, the conjecture of Guarinus (studiose) was right.
