Eustath. is probably right in rendering “κλυτά” as ‘fine,’ ‘famous’—“ διὰ τὸ πλῆθος, διὰ τὸ καλλίτριχον, διὰ τὴν πιότητα”—for there seems to be no authority for the use of “κλυτός” in the sense of ‘noisy,’ which some attach to it, though there would be no difficulty in getting such a meaning from the root “κλυ”.
