Αἶνον: cf. iv. 90. 2. Strabo 331, fr. 51 πρὸς δὲ τῇ ἐκβολῇ τοῦ Ἕβρου διστόμου ὄντος πόλις Αἶνος ἐν τῷ Μέλανι κόλπῳ κεῖται, κτίσμα Μυτιληναίων καὶ Κυμαίων. The Lake Stentoris must have been near Aenus and the mouth of the Hebrus, where there are still two considerable marshy lakes.
