[53] The rhythm of this line is very strange; the connexion of the preposition with its case is so close as hardly to admit a caesura; but there is no other in the third or fourth foot, cf. 18.191. ἐννῆμαρ ... τῆι δεκάτηι: the regular formula for a vague number of days; 6.174, 24.610, and elsewhere often.
