[59] Τέκτονος seems to be a proper name derived from its owner's calling, like “Τυχίος7.220, “Δαίδαλος, Βουκολίων6.22, “Φήμιος Τερπιάδης” the minstrel Od. 22.330. So the name of the father “Ἅρμων” means the joiner. In Od. 8.114 we have the patronymic “Τεκτονίδης. ὅς” in 60 and 62 no doubt refers to the principal person, Phereklos; so that the craft is represented as hereditary in three generations.
