[130] ἐξελόμην, chose as my “γέρας ἐξαιρετόν”. In this book the chief seems to apportion the “γέρας” to himself, whereas in A it is the gift of the army; see 330-3 compared with 1.162, 299, and 16.56. The imperf. ἐνίκων refers back to the time of the choice.
