[561] αὐτοῦ ἀμυνομένων, defending the body (as opposed to the arms). For the gen. see 522; it is commoner with the mid. than with the act.; see 9.531, 12.155, 179, 13.700. Ar. thought that αὐτοῦ might also be taken in a local sense, there: but this is too weak.
