[28] κευθμῶν, here only, the cases being elsewhere always formed from a nom. “κευθμών”. Ar. compared “αὐλόσ-αὐλών”. ἠγνοίησεν, Ar. “ἠγνοίησαν”: he held that H. preferred the plural verb with neuter plurals and evidently carried through his theory in spite of the best tradition, in ignorance of the “Ϝ” of “Ϝάνακτα”. Cf. 11.724.
