[164] τεθναίης , i.e. I pray that you may lie dead if you do not slay. Or the opt. may be concessive, ‘you may lie dead for all I care.’ See M. and T. p. 383. The alternative explanation, ‘if you do not kill him, he will kill you,’ is obviously absurd.
