[622] This treatment seems somewhat heroic for a wounded man, but probably has some connexion with the idea of the healthfulness of sea-water (see 10.572). Fäsi quotes similar conduct on the part of the heroes of the Nibelungen-Lied. For θῖν（α） we should rather have expected the dat. “θίν̓” (for “θινί”).
