Cf. 7.389-90. ἥ is perhaps for “ὅ”, ‘attracted’ to the gender of “ἀρχή”, the antecedent being the whole preceding clause as in “ἣ θέμις ἐστίν”; though it may with some violence be referred to “Ἑλένην”. The variant “Τροίην” for Τροίηνδ᾽ is very likely right, though it does not appear in the parallel passage. Compare 10.268 with note.
