[557] μετ᾽ ἀνδράσιν, cf. 492 above. ἀρείους is best regarded as a nom., for it would be felt to be really co-ordinate with “οἶοι” in sense, though grammatically the constr. is not exact. It might be possible to take it as an acc. supplying “ἐόντας”. The acc. would then follow the dat. as in 1.541-42 “αἰεί τοι φίλον ἐστιν . . φρονέοντα δικαζέμεν”.
