[23] Ameis points out that the δή shews that “ὅτε” is here strictly temporal, and not merely conditional: ‘as soon as I determined to pull.’ For ἐθέλοιμι Aristarchos read “ἐθέλωμι”, which is less appropriate, as the case is purely imaginary; see note on 1.549. πρόφρων, in good earnest.
