[533] The hiatus in the middle of the first foot is inexcusable, and the zeugma is harsh, though it is not impossible to supply ‘went’ from ‘leapt’ or ‘swooped.’ The simplest correction is Brandreth's “Ζεὺς δ᾽ ἴε ὅν” or “ἴ᾽ ἑόν” (reconjectured forty years later by Fick and again by Agar).
