Od. 12.305στήσαμεν ἐν λιμένι γλαφυρῶι εὐεργέα νῆα”), or they landed it, or set it up for inspection, or weighed it as a proof of its value (so Paley). Thoas, king of Lemnos, was father of Hypsipyle and grandfather of Euneos, 7.468. They may have given the king a present in order to purchase permission to trade in his country.
