[843] 843 “ἀθετεῖται, ὅτι δυεῖν προδεδισκευκότων ἔδει εἰπεῖνἀμφοτέρων.” μετενήνεκται δὲ ἐκ τῆς Ὀδυσσείας” (Od. 8.192) “καὶ ἐκεῖ εὐλόγως ἔστινὑπέρβαλε σήματα πάντων,” πλείονες γὰρ δισκεύουσιν”, This An.again, though the careless repetition is obvious, is in a passage of this character no ground for athetesis. The σ´ηματα are evidently pegs stuck in the ground to mark the point reached by each man's ‘put.’
