The line was justly athetized by Ar. and Aph., as out of place; νῦν δέ requires some such phrase as ‘I used to esteem your wisdom’ preceding it, but there is nothing of the sort here. For σευ Zen. read “σε”, which probably is for “σἐ”（“ο”): the hiatus after “σε” would be very harsh, even at the end of the first foot (see 2.87). For the aor. ὠνοσάμην see H. G. § 78. 1. The idiom is common in Attic (“ἐπήινεσα”, etc.) but very rare in H.; cf. 24.241. Aisch. Agam. 277 “παιδὸς νέα ὣς κάρτ᾽ ἐμωμήσω φρένας”.
