[53] Neither the form νεμεσσηθῶμεν (or -“έωμεν”) for -“ήομεν”, nor the position of “οι<*>” in the sentence, nor the neglect of its “Ϝ”, which “ϝοι” of all words retains most obstinately, can be right. All the difficulties are happily solved by reading “μή ϝ᾽”(“οι”) “ἀγαθῶι περ ἐόντι νεμεσσηθήομεν ἡμεῖς” (-“είομεν” Bekker, -“ήομεν” Wackernagel, “μή ϝ᾽” van L.).
