[789] ἔγρετο must be taken in pregnant sense, woke up and came. But it is obviously a mere error in transcription: “ΕΓΡΕΤΟ” = “ἤγρετο” from “ἀγείρω”, gathered together, see note on 7.434. Probably 789-90 are late intruders: 790 = Od. 2.9, Od. 8.24, Od. 24.421 (cf. 1.57).
