[72] σῶκος, here only (but as a proper name in 11.427). The rare verb “σωκεῖν” (Trag.) seems to indicate that it means strong, but this of course is uncertain. Ἐρμ̂ης, the contracted form is found four times in Od. but not elsewhere in Cf. Il.Ἑρμέαι5.390; elsewhere only “Ἑρμείας”.
