[29] μυρίοι, very many, see 1.2. The actual number of Myrmidons is 2500 from 16.168 ff. (a late passage however). τάφον δαίνυ (also Od. 3.309) like “γάμον δαινύναι 19.299, Od. 4.3. τάφος” never means tomb in H., only funeral.
