[108] 108 was athetized by Aristarchos, according to Aristonikos, on the following grounds: — “ὅτι ἄτοπον προστιθέναι τὴν ἱστορίαν τῶι εἰδότι καὶ ὁ καιρὸς δεῖται συντομίας: καὶ ὅτι τὸ ποτέ χρονικὴν ἔχει ἔμφασιν” (i.e. implies a considerable interval of time), “τῆς ἀφαιρέσεως γεγονυίας τῆι πρὸ ταύτης ἡμέραι”. These arguments hardly seem sufficient.
