[625] ἄρετο, won, as a prize, “γέρας ἐξαιρετόν”, given to reward his pre-eminence in council (627), no doubt on account of advice he had given relative to the capture of the city. Observe θυγατέρα in apposition with the relative “τήν”, instead of the more distant nominative.
