[432] Ar. noted that τεύχε᾽ ἀπούρας is inappropriate, as Odysseus is too hard pressed to think of despoiling the corpses. This is very true; but Fick remarks that we should read “θυμὸν ἀπούρας”, which may have been altered on account of “θυμόν” in the next line; the older Epic style took no offence at such iteration.
