[92] οὐλομένη, a curse upon her! See 1.2. The idea of the ἀπαλοὶ πόδες is worked out in a fragment of Rhianos; “ δ᾽ Ἄτη, ἁπαλοῖσι μετατρωχῶσα πόδεσσιν ἄκρηις ἐν κεφαλῆισιν, ἀνώϊστος καὶ ἄφαντος . . Ζηνὶ θεῶν κρείοντι Δίκηι τ᾽ ἐπὶ ἦρα φέρουσα”. ‘Walking over the heads of men’ expresses the mysterious and silent infliction from above. See also Plato Symp. 195
