[491] It is doubtful whether we should read τηλεκλειτῶν or “-κλητῶν” where the epithet is applied to the Trojan allies also 6.111, 9.233, 11.564, 12.108). “πολύκλητοι,” 4.438, is decidedly in favour of the latter; but the former alone is admissible in other cases, 14.321, Od. 11.308, Od. 19.546. To our MSS. the two are of course practically identical.
