[129] πλέας, a comparative form = “πλέονας”, for “πλε-εας” = “πλε-jεσ-ας”: see note on 1.80. The form remained in use in more than one dialect to historical times, being found in an inscription from Mytilene (Collitz no. 213, 9), “ταὶς ἄρχαις παίσαις ταὶς ἐμ Μ”[“υτιλή”]“ναι πλέας τ”[“”]“ν αἰμίσεων”, and in the great inscription from Gortyn, in the forms “πλίες, πλία, πλίανς”. The nom. “πλέες” is found in 11.395.
