[199] This line seems like a poor imitation of the famous 1.530. εἰνί for “ἐνί” is found only in this phrase (also 15.150) and “εἰνὶ θύρηισι” (Od. 8.325(?), Od. 9.417, Od. 10.310, Od. 12.256). It is a purely metrical form, excused in the case of “εἰνὶ θύρηισι” by absolute necessity; “ἐν θρόνωι”, however, is not impossible, so that Schulze regards “εἰνί” here as a later imitation of “εἰνὶ θύρηισι” (Q. E. 221).
