[379] ἀνακυμβαλίαζον occurs only here in Greek. It is commonly explained ‘turned over with a rattle,’ as from “κύμβαλον”. The analogy with “κύμβαχος” (5.586 “ἔκπεσε δίφρου κύμβαχος ἐν κονίηισιν”) is very close, and the two words were doubtless connected; where both are so obscure it is useless to say more, or to correct the text, with Valkenaer and others, to “ἀνακυμβαχίαζον”.
