[894] The indic. ἐθέλεις is here of course the regular tense after “πόρωμεν”, but the opt. may be defended as not directly assuming Agamemnon's consent, and thus being somewhat more courteous in tone. Compare 17.489, where a similar question arises, but the circumstances are inverted, as there it is more courteous to assume the consent.
