[691] For Βίας τ᾽ ἐύς Nauck conj. “καὶ Ιασος”, on the ground that an “Ἴασος” is leader of the Athenians in 15.332. If the passage is to be harmonized, it needs less half-hearted measures. Ἐπειῶν is evidently gen. after “ἦρχε” above, though with a slight change of construction, and followed by another change in πρὸ Φθίων afterwards.
