[86] περὶ χαλκῶι, a bold phrase, writhing about the point of the arrow. Similar expressions occur in 13.441, 570, 21.577, 23.30, Od. 11.424, Od. 12.395; but in all of these the victim is pierced through the middle of the body, which makes the expression more natural.
