[471] 471 “ἀθετεῖται, ὅτι τὸ ἐπεξηγεῖσθαι ποιητικόν, οὐχ ἡρωϊκοῦ προσώπου”, An.; i.e. the description should be given by the poet himself, not put into the mouth of one of his characters. The line certainly seems out of place here. For ἀν̀ηρ .. υἰός, an unusual expression which may have caused the interpolation, cf. “φῶτ᾽ Ἀσκληπίου υἱόν4.194 and other passages quoted there.
