[564] Ar. is recorded to have read “πολυηγερέες, “ἐκ πολλῶν ἀγερθέντες”,” here, but no variant is mentioned in the same line, 6.111, 9.233. The word does not recur elsewhere, and seems to have no superiority to the ordinary τηλέκλειτοι, for which see 5.491. Ar., however, we may take it for certain, had some MS. authority, and did not invent the word. Compare 4.438 “πολύκλητοι”.
