[325] Hentze remarks that this is the only passage in the Iliad, as Od. 14.68 is the only one in the Odyssey, where Helen is mentioned by a Greek (other than herself) with words of anger. ῥιγεδαν̂ης, horrible, a thing to shudder at; cf. (“”)“κρυοέσσης,6.344. For the form cf. “ἠπεδανός, οὐτιδανός”.
