[764] ἐν τείχει, from its antithesis to “νηυσὶν ἔπι πρυμνῆισιν”, evidently means ‘within the walls of Troy,’ whither Deïphobos had been taken (538); but the use of the word is curious in a passage where the Greek wall has been so prominent.
