[155] ὑπέρμορα, a rhetorical expression only: nothing ever actually happens in Homer against the will of fate, as a god always interferes to prevent it. For similar expressions compare 17.327, 20.30, 336; and also 16.780, and Od. 1.34, with M. and R.'s note; and for “ὑπέρ” = against, “ὑπὲρ ὅρκια” 3.299, etc.
