[358] The words μ́η τοί τι θεῶν μ́ηνιμα γένωμαι recur in the speech of Elpenor's shade when asking burial for his body, Od. 11.73, and evidently imply vivid belief in the ‘ghost theory’ (App. L, § 9). Cf. Eur. Phoen. 934.
