[203] ἄδην only here with “α_”, though we have “ἀδήσειε, ἀδηκότες”, etc. The variation in quantity is unexplained; it is possibly here due to the sixth arsis, see Schulze Q. E. p. 452. “ἅδην”, which Ar. read, will be right if the word comes from root sa (sa-tur, etc.); but this is not certain. See note on 10.98.
