[736] στέφανος occurs only here in H.; it is clearly used of an encircling ring, though in 11.36 the verb “ἐστεφάνωτο” seems to be applied to the central figure; see note on 5.739. For the use of δέδηεν of the fury of battle cf. 12.35, 20.18.
