[419] ἐερσ´ηεις, fresh, cf. roscidus; he is not parched by the sun, because Apollo has spread a mist over him. So also 757. αἶμα is best taken as an acc. of the ‘external object,’ he is washed of blood; cf. Od. 6.224χρόα νίζετο δῖος Ὀδυσσεὺς ἅλμην,17.667κελαινεφὲς αἷμα κάθηρον . . Σαρπηδόνα,18.345Πάτροκλον λούσειαν ἄπο βρότον αἱματόεντα”, and note on 21.122.
