[151] νεῦρον, by which the base of the tip was ‘whipped’ to the shaft. ὄγκους, barbs (uncos); there were probably three such, the point having three edges; Helbig H. E. ^{2} p. 341; v. “ὀϊστῶι τριγλώχινι” 5.393, 11.507. Only the actual point has penetrated the flesh, the rest of the head remains in the armour.
